About the project

Prysmian is the principal contractor for a major electricity transmission project. The project received planning permission under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 from two local planning authorities in England. This permission is conditional upon meeting specific planning requirements to ensure compliance.

As part of their contractual obligations, Prysmian is responsible for satisfying the planning conditions attached to the permissions. To manage this, Prysmian appointed a dedicated Onshore Consents Management through Naturally Compliant. The coordinator’s responsibilities include overseeing the fulfilment of planning conditions, tracking and reporting progress, facilitating the exchange of essential information between the client and contractor, and liaising with regulatory authorities on behalf of the project team.

Centralised communication for streamlined planning coordination

Naturally Compliant acts as a single, centralised point of contact to enable efficient and consistent communication between the project team and local planning authorities. This approach fosters strong, trusted relationships with the authorities and establishes clear communication channels for effective collaboration.

With planning conditions set by multiple authorities, Naturally Compliant’s consents manager ensures all requirements are tracked in a centralised system. This facilitates internal reporting and minimises the risk of oversights or delays in addressing the numerous planning conditions.

By overseeing the process, the consents manager can proactively identify and address potential risks before they escalate. This helps to prevent the likelihood of project delays, penalties, or disruptions caused by unmet conditions.

The consents manager also addresses the complexities of discharging planning conditions by ensuring compliance, submitting deliverables on time, streamlining communication between internal and external teams, and tracking progress to reduce risks that could impact project timelines and costs.
