Naturally Compliant is delighted to continue our partnership with Prysmian, supporting their UK operations on the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project. Our collaboration with Prysmian has been long-standing and successful, having provided comprehensive environmental services for several of their projects, including the Neart na Gaoithe offshore windfarm, Viking Link, and the Sofia offshore windfarm. The latest project, EGL2, marks another chapter in our ongoing relationship.
EGL2 is an ambitious 2GW electrical 'superhighway' that will stretch from Peterhead in Aberdeenshire to Drax in North Yorkshire. This significant venture is a collaboration between Scottish and Southern Energy Networks Transmission and National Grid Electricity Transmission. Upon completion, EGL2 will play a crucial role in boosting the UK's capacity to deliver clean energy to approximately 2 million homes.
As we support Prysmian's environmental team on this project, our project lead, Simon Knott, shared his thoughts:
"We are thrilled to extend our support to Prysmian in the UK on what is our most significant project yet. From the initial qualification to the detailed tender and negotiation phases, we have worked closely with Prysmian and key subcontractors. Our goal was to mitigate commercial risk while enhancing the proposal.
With the contract now in place, we look forward working with the project team to develop a detailed design, ensuring it not only meets but exceeds environmental standards. Our involvement will continue through to the construction phase, where we will provide extensive environmental guidance."
This project underlines Naturally Compliant's leadership in offering environmental support during the construction phase for the energy infrastructure sector. We are excited to embark on this project and look forward to achieving our shared goals with Prysmian.
